The new father was seen at the Snow White and the Huntsman press junket in London where he glowed with demi-god like pride over his new daughter India.  Hard-pressed to be torn from his wife, Elsa Pataky, and their baby who was born recently, the Avengers star shared how excited he is to be a parent.

Hemsworth told E! News “I’ve wanted to have kids for a long time, and here it is, and I couldn’t be happier.”  On top of that he dished on the source of his daughter’s unique name.  ”It was just a name we liked”, the actor explained, “I always kind of liked Indie or Indiana for a boy and she liked India…We sorta went, ‘Oh well, whether it’s a boy or girl that will decide.’ It just seemed to fit.”

The couple has been married since 2010 and is surely enjoying Hemsworth’s success at the box office second to reveling in the joys of parenthood with their first child.

Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky only have a few more months before they become first-time parents.

The Australian actor, 28, and his Spanish wife, 35, hit up The Avengers premiere in London Thursday, where Pataky showed off her growing baby bump in an emerald Hoss Intropia gown. Hemsworth (in a Calvin Klein suit) lovingly rubbed his wife’s belly on the red carpet.

“She’s so proud of Chris and he’s proud of her,” a source tells Us Weekly of the couple, who wed in December 2010. “They are an adorable family already!”

Hemsworth plays Thor in The Avengers alongside Chris Evans, 30, Scarlett Johansson, 27, Samuel L. Jackson, 63, Robert Downey Jr., 47, Mark Ruffalo, 44, and Jeremy Renner, 41.

“Much like these characters, they’re surrounded by bravado but underneath there’s insecurity and self doubt,” Hemsworth told Us at the London premiere. “That’s how I felt on the first day, walking on the set — rather intimidated!”

Hemsworth eventually got over his nerves, and he’s quite proud of the finished product. “If you want to be entertained then this delivers,” the actor promised. “It’s a great, humorous. . . big movie.”

Elsa Pataky can’t hide his happiness. The Spanish actress is already a heavily pregnant, and although She’ll give birth in a few weeks, at the moment does not give up social events. So, very pretty, with an almost permanent smile on her face, tummy and wearing a tight black dress, Elsa  appeared in the premiere of the latest film by his brother in law, Liam Hemsworth -boyfriend of actress Miley Cyrus – The Hunger Games in London.

Although Elsa attended with her husband, Chris, he chose to pose with his little brother. Pataky is living the last days of her pregnancy in London, where Chris is currently shooting the movie Rush.
